The SVT-40 was the second production semi automatic rifle made and used by the Russians during WW2, the first being the unsuccessful SVT-38. It held 10 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition that was loaded via 2, 5 round stripper clips used for the Mossin Nagant rifle. The SVT40 was issued to Russian Marine units and saw limited use on the Eastern front. New specification deactivated weapon. Does not cock or dry fire. Deactivated in September 2006 by the Birmingham proof house.
