The SKS was designed by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov in 1945. A few were tested on the front lines against the Germans and it was officially adopted by the Russian army in 1949. It was a reliable semi automatic rifle but was quickly phased out for the AK47. These weapons were sent to second line troops and sympathetic communist counties around the world. It saw service in Afghanistan, Congo, Indonesia, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon, Mongolia, Morocco, the United Arab Republic (Egypt), and the Yemen People's Democratic Republic. This model has a soviet scope mounted. It is a new specification deactivated weapon with some moving parts.
